A Few Folks Have Pointed Out…
sarasblathering replied to your post: My Uncle Has Suggested A Title Change In Order To Sell More Books
I wouldn’t compromise myself with a (even minorly) misleading title. Small decision now, big consequences later. Assume it becomes a best seller, then the small minded people get busy and start picking you apart. Don’t give them ammunition.
…that the publisher would give it whatever title they wanted, anyway— which is something I hadn’t considered. So I guess I’m just trying to hook an agent with the title, at this point. If the first batch isn’t well received then I’ll change the title back and send out another batch to the next 18 or so. Thanks for the feedback!

God, I hate that word. There is so much baggage associated with it and until recently I didn't even really apply it to myself. I've always just been "a woman." It is accurate, though, so I guess there is no avoiding it.
