God, I hate that word. There is so much baggage associated with it and until recently I didn't even really apply it to myself. I've always just been "a woman." It is accurate, though, so I guess there is no avoiding it.

This is not a transsexual blog. It is the blog of a pretty run-of-the-mill woman with a quirky sense of humor. There will be some transsexual stuff weaved in, no doubt, because-- well, just because. Hopefully that will be a smallish part of it. If it's not well, then, sorry. It is what it is. I'm going to write about whatever fancies me at the moment.

I never even thought about having a blog but people keep telling me, "you need to write a blog." So-- ummm..., here it is!

If you would like to ask me a question you can either click HERE or you can email it to 'chelle at finallychelle.com'.

Speaking Of Our Wedding…

…Annie and I have decided to invite y’all.

Our original plan of just the two of us being married on the beach with one witness and a member of the clergy gradually morphed in “family only” then “family and close friends” to “hey, we’re having a beach party!”

Our wedding will be on Saturday, October 6th, on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. That’s Columbus Day weekend so many of you should have Monday the 8th off.

I know what you’re thinking: “Chelle, I’ve heard that Hilton Head is expensive. I’d love to come but I don’t think I could afford it.”

We’ve negotiated a deal on a block of rooms with the Comfort Inn. Rooms that don’t have a microwave and refrigerator will be only $79/night and rooms that include both of those items will be $89/night.

The wedding will take place on the beach and the reception will take place around the pool at the Comfort Inn. In case of inclement weather, they have an indoor location we can use as a backup.

Here are a few things you might want to know:

1) The Comfort Inn is walking distance to the beach— and walking distance to just about everywhere you’d want to go.

2) If you don’t feel like walking to the beach there is a stretch golf cart that shuttles people back and forth, all day long.

3) October is probably the best month of the year, temperature-wise. It’s still wonderfully warm without being deathly hot.

4) I promise that we won’t take up your entire weekend with wedding stuff. You’ll get to spend most of your time at the beach.

5) If you fly into Savannah Airport you won’t even need to rent a car. We’ll come get you and bring you to the beach.

If you think you might want to attend please let me know so that I can make sure that our block of rooms is large enough!
